To show how you can generate a Control App for your client we will use a Motion Sensor.

Inside the Apps Overview clicking on the green play button the Device Mapping appear.

By now selecting the “Hardware Object” reference on the left side of the screen you get the option to select all the Clients that have Motion Sensor Hardware that are currently paired to the System. ( In our case only one)

Select the client that is preferred for this application and then Done (Note the green checkmark)

Now you can Save + Run your Application and in our Case if we click on the Dashboard we will see that out Motion now triggers a Switch Gadget:

Introduction

Generating an app based on a clients firmware can be a handy tool to test connected hardware before working on a larger app. This way you can isolate the clients connected hardware in one app without evening having to write the app yourself and test all of the functionality easily.

Make Demo App

Navigate to the clients view and identify the client you would like to generate a control app for. Click the three dots at the end of the row and the click “Make Demo App“.

The system is now analyzing the firmware running on the client and will populate appropriate hardware and interface objects as well as links. Continue by starting your app and mapping the correct client. If you’d like you can check out the generated app or continue directly to the dashboard to test the clients connected hardware.
