The Q-Server Factory Reset is a powerful tool to wipe clean your Q-Server and return it to it’s default settings.

...

What is the factory reset?

Resetting your Q-Server can have various reasons. Most common reason is because you forgot your pin code to access your Q-Server. Sometimes you also want to wipe your system before transferring ownership of the product or you just want to do a little spring cleaning. We will go over what to do before factory resetting , the different ways you can factory reset and then how to do the initial setup again after it”s factory reset.

...

Backing up your files

If you are still able to access to your Q-Server will try to save our most important files. We will start by backing up all our app and firmware files. As you can see we have multiple firmware and app files we want to save before a reset.

...

When you open the downloaded zip-file you will see all your apps and firmware files as .json files.

UI Reset

There are two ways to factory reset your server. The first way is to reset it on the ui of the Q-Server. You go to the settings again. Move to “System Actions” and scroll down until you find the “Factory Rest” button. The system will ask you whether you really want to reset your Q-Server.

...

The Q-Server will then automatically reset itself and you can start the set up of your Q-Server again.

...

Physical Reset

The other way to reset your Q-Server is to physically push a button of your Q-Server to start the resetting process. This method is used if you can’t access the ui on your Q-Server. To do this you take a push pin or the end of a male jumper wire also works. There is a small slot left of the status LEDs if you look closely.

...

Insert your pin into slot and then hold down that reset button for at least 10 seconds. When the status LED of your Q-Server turns solid red the reset process has started.

...

Initial Setup

Once the status LED is blinking green, the Q-Server is ready for the quantum setup.

...

Once you finished the settings click on “Get Started” and you will get back to the homescreen of your Q-Server.

...

Import backed up files

The Q-Server is returned to its default settings. Now we want to import the files from the zip file from the beginning. You can import every file one by one by going to the Apps tab or Firmware tab and clicking on the “Import” button next to “+ Create New”. Click on “Copy from File” and select your desired apps and firmware you want to upload. Make sure you are in the right tab!
