The Quantum IoT Platform allows you to leverage data from external source or sent data to them. These services could include but are not limited to: Music Services like Spotify, Voice Control like Alexa, weather information or even sending SMS. Services are enabling to access these third party providers in a secure way. You can enabled and install Services through the Quantum Store.

Services let you integrate external data and sources into the qSysyem. Services can be web services like REST APIs or anything else that brings in data or stores data. A typical example for a Service is a weather web service as a source of meteorological data.

Setup Services

Every Setup is different you can find guides to each Service right here inside the Documentation.
The general process is:

  1. Activate service from the Store site

  2. Enter setup parameters

  3. Done! You can now use that service with your Application. Apps have specific objects for each Service

Difference to Gateway

  • Services are very specific. They interact with external resources like voice recognition, Databases, Weather Services, SMS Messaging services and others

  • Gateways add Devices to your System - Services do not

  • For Services you can find specific Objects inside the Application builder - Gateways just use the the general hardware library that the Q-Clients also use.
